PTP
COLLABORATION WITH MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE Middlebury Seal

Since PTP'S birth in 1987, Middlebury College's support has enabled students to receive hands-on professional experience in acting, technical theatre and arts administration and to begin their theatre careers under the tutelage of some of New York's and Washington's most proficient actors and directors. Since the late 1980's, some 200 students have been PTP company members; many are now returning as members of the professional acting company.

This is the only such collaboration in the country between a professional theatre company and an undergraduate liberal arts college and brings to the attention of a large and diverse audience Middlebury College's unique support for the arts, underscored as well by the College's dedication in 1992 of a multi-million dollar Center for the Arts.

Relocating to New York in 2007 after 20 years in the Washington theatre arena Potomac Theatre Project continues its work of providing audiences with socially-engaged, probing theatre of the highest calibre and breaking new ground in the training of young artists. The company is engaged in redefining political theatre for the 21st century.
