Richard’s most recent productions for PTP/NYC are Victory: Choices in Reaction, Gary the Thief & Plevna, The Europeans, Scenes from an Execution, No End of Blame (all by Howard Barker) The American Dream and Press Conference/One for the Road. Other notable work for PTP/NYC includes The Best Man, No Man’s Land, Pinter Briefs, Havel: The Passion of Thought, The Castle, A Hard Heart, Mountain Language/New World Order, and Vampire.

His work for the Olney Theatre Center includes Private Lives, Candida, The Homecoming, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Camille.

He is a professor of theatre at Middlebury College, where he has directed numerous plays, including the American premiere of Peter Barnes’ The Bewitched, performed at the Kennedy Center as part of the American College Theatre Festival. His production of Scenes from an Execution also played at the Kennedy Center ACTF. He also directed Italian-American Reconciliation for Project Y in Washington, D.C. and A Hard Heart for Whistler in the Dark in Boston.

He trained at the School of Theatre at Florida State University.
